Tuition Fee

Fees may be billed per semester or annually. Full payment is required before enrolment, and access to courses is granted. Students with unpaid tuition may have restricted access. By providing card details, you authorise Nia Open University to charge the applicable fees.

Payment Processing Fees

Nia Open University partners with third-party payment providers (e.g., [Payment Gateway]) for secure transactions. Processing fees charged by providers are the responsibility of the student.

Annual and Semester Payment Options

Students must pay in full on or before the due date to access materials and exams. Partial payments or deposits are not allowed. Extended study fees apply for students exceeding the standard programme duration, plus any allowance period.

International Students

Tuition for students outside Kenya is collected in US Dollars (USD). Misrepresentation of residency is considered a violation.

Tuition Payment Refund Policy

Voluntary Withdrawal

• Withdrawal within the first four weeks: 50% refund of tuition for the current session.
• Withdrawal after four weeks: no refund.

Involuntary Withdrawal

No refund is issued if withdrawn for academic or disciplinary reasons.

Refund Process

Submit a Tuition Refund Form to the registrar. Requests are processed within 14 business days. Appeals may be submitted to the Nia Open University Appeals Committee within 72 hours of the refund decision.

Change of Programme and Academic Level Transfer Policy

Eligible students may apply to:

• Change programmes within Nia Open University.
• Transfer to a different academic level.

Conditions include active enrolment, meeting target programme requirements, and compliance with financial obligations. A KES xxx processing fee applies. Applications are processed within 7–14 working days.

Examinations

Students must adhere to semester examination schedules. Deferred exams must be requested formally and are subject to approval. Deferred exam fees apply for repeated deferments, including specific rates for international students.

Use of Communication Services

By using communication features on the Nia Open University website (forums, chat, bulletin boards, etc.):
